Best Burgers In Downtown Vancouver

Craving a burger? Luckily you don’t need to travel too far from downtown Vancouver to find a tasty burger that will satisfy your hunger. Here are our top picks for the best burgers in downtown Vancouver.

Burger Crush

Burger Crush tops our list for the best burger in downtown, serving delicious smash patty burgers, french fries and shakes. What we like about Burger Crush is the no frills vibe, taking things back to the classic burger shop that focused on simple ingredients and menu items but executed them well. The cheeseburgers are the star here with the hand-pressed beef patty and quintessential fresh ingredients. The bun is really well toasted with a light crisp around the edges that elevates the experience above others. They offer Crush Fries which are french fries topped with onions and crush sauce which are a similar version of animal style fries from In-N-Out. We’ve had Burger Crush a few times now and the food hasn’t disappointed, service and waiting time can be hit and a miss though so be prepared. They also offer a vegetarian burger with a vegan patty and vegan nuggets.

Fat Burger

For a more traditional hamburger experience, Fat Burger is a great choice. A popular Canadian chain, Fat Burger has a diverse menu featuring signature burgers, sandwiches, wings and more. We’ve had the Original Fat Burger and Old Style Bacon Cheddar and both were enjoyable and quite filling. Burgers are made with Alberta Angus beef patty for a meaty taste topped with your typical burger ingredients. We’ve also opted for their curly fries which aren’t anything special and could do with a bit more seasoning. Their milkshakes are one of our favourites with a creamy ice cream taste and good texture – would recommend giving them a try.

Hundy

Located in Yaletown, Hundy goes for a no frills approach to their burgers with a straightforward menu that delivers great tasting burgers. Their burgers are a smash patty style and they get the basics right, good beef patty, fresh ingredients and a decent burger sauce, making them most similar to Burger Crush from this list. The main difference is they offer chicken burgers as well as poutine. If you’re in the area and craving a burger, don’t hesitate as this is one of the best choices.

Between 2 Buns

Between 2 Buns gets a lot of praise as the best burger in town and for a good reason. They serve delicious smash patty style cheeseburgers as staple of their menu as well as a veggie burger. Like the others above, a similar straightforward approach to burgers with a focus on limited ingredients but getting them done right. The meat patty was juicy and fries are solid with the option to make them loaded. Located in Chinatown, it may be a slight downside for some to visit, but we’ve never had any issues ourselves.

Five Guys

The well known fast-food chain Five Guys had to find it’s way onto this list as a very solid burger located in the heart of downtown. Five Guys serves traditional hamburgers and cheeseburgers on a sesame seed bun with a choice for toppings. What we enjoy about Five Guys is they pack the burger and generously fill your bag with fries which is a huge tick in our books. They also use peanut oil which gives the food a distinct flavour compared to the rest. Being a huge chain, ingredients don’t taste as fresh as the others but overall still decent and deserving for a spot on our best burgers in downtown Vancouver.
